Integrated Crop Management Plan

It’s actual just writing down what you do or at least should be doing it makes you think maybe that continuous wheat wasn’t so good.
We are doing GlobalGAP today here are a few of our files.

From the DEFRA blurb it says
“ICM is a method of farming that balances the requirements of running a profitable business with responsibility and sensitivity to the environment.”

so if we do ICM we will have a profitable business ?????

The statement says you can do ICM and still run a profitable business. It does not state that doing ICM will make your business profitable.

Just completed online. Printed off 22 pages. Not very environmentally friendly !
At least it is a different format to previous years but still a lot of pointless questions.

Just out of interest as I haven’t done one of these, what are the pointless questions?

My mistake :scratchhead:, I was refering to the Integrated Pest Management Plan (IPM).
A lot of the questions in it seem to be a bit repetitve (Ranking things in order of importance 1 to 5 for each crop etc)
I am sure it could be done on 2 or 3 sides of A4.
Just seems paper work is more important than actually getting the physical job done.

Why do some people assume that just because something is written down:
A) it’s been done
B) anyone gives one about doing it?

I acknowledge that spray, fert applications are needed. But the fact the grain store needs a few roof sheets is something that I just get on and sort out. Writing it down just slows me down and wastes resource.

If you all enjoy doing these you're going to love SFI
It's not looking like paying enough ££ to make it worth the bother.

Maybe 100% down to LNR (stewardship). Then won't need fert records, IPM, ICM, grain moistures, grain temps, equipment cleaning, rat bait station filling times, plan of bait stations, NVZ's.......
