Interesting right or wrong

I know that the drivers of vehicles taking gang workers to site (flower picking) need to have Driver CPC cards (like HGV drivers) and the vehicles are subject to the same testing as commercial buses and coaches.

Can't see why shooting businesses should be any different.

It says it applies to trailers over 3,5 tonnes for commercial use,
Agricultural trailers don't come in to scope and are exempt from the 10 year ruling,
Is a shoot Agricultural, or commercial ? I would think commercial but may be wrong,
If a shoot trailer is 3.5 gross it will be exempt anyway, also any trailers pulled carrying shooter on private land will also be exempt,
But does the new ruling apply to a trailer if it has more than a number of seats, while being on the public highway,
Bet if there was a dvsa test man on the shoot, the tyres would be passed by, as the whisky and food would be more important 😋

This was taken from dvsa website, found in the link at top of page 1 of this thread,

"It will also be a requirement for the manufacturer’s date code to be legible on all tyres fitted to HGVs, trailers over 3.5 tonnes, buses, coaches and minibuses. If a tyre is a retread then the manufacturer date is taken from when the retread was carried out."

Sorry if I was wrong

I saw this and thought it was strange. At first I agree they're wrong.

However:

Trailers could easily contain more than 9 seats, and some over zealous inspector may argue it's a minibus being towed and therefore the rules would apply.

They're therefore erring on the side of caution and advising people to change them anyway to save hassle.
Like a lot of things in law, it's not until there's a court ruling it's actually decided.
