International 434 Handbrake

Evening all,

Do any of you know how to adjust these handbrakes? Also are they a good design? Thank you.

The knob on the top screws on the threaded bar inside to give more tension. They’re much better than the earlier ratchet type where the actual braking capability was always half a flipping tooth further than you could get it to travel but adjusting the actuator rods left the brakes binding 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

How does your pedal feel when braking? Are they setup and balanced first before you tackle the handbrake.

Thank you both. Do you know whereabouts the handbrake is bolted to on the mudguards/wings? I've replaced the Lambourne mudguards with ordinary standard ones and I just need to know where to drill the holes.

Yes they are all set up and balanced perfectly. Much better brakes than on a 35!

I have a later b275 with the higher/longer brake pedals there doesn't seem to be enough movement on the handbrake to move the handbrake all the way to the top and all the way down. Has anybody else had this trouble?
