Friend has bought an old 574 for his small holding, just for topping, grading, we'd trailer etc.
Wondered if anyone could identify the lift/draft control levers for me as its all been painted over.

It's got a single spool valve on the bottom right of the cab next to your right foot then the two lift/draft control levers to your right then the PTO engage lever behind that and a lever I don't know to the right of the PTO lever.

On the left it has forward high/low and low reverse and 1234 on a sequential lever.

Any tips for operating the old girl? Particularly the gearbox and rear lift. Last time I used manual draft was on a 698 MF and it was a long time ago.

Inside lever nearest to you/seat is lift and lower position
Nearest mudgaurd is draft

Gears use clutch back is 1st and right forward/down is 4th 2 n 3 inbetween
Rev is right back neutral in the middle when side to side can be selected towards mudgaurd an forward is low pull towards an down is high
Dont drive with handbrake on as it will burn out in a matter of yards they are easy to forget about being awkward to see thats why i mention the handbrakes
Other than that not much else to say about these ole girls

Hope this helps some what for you

The lever you refer to next to the pto lever is the lift speed. This can be used in conjunction with draft control and is especially useful when ploughing. Good advice about the handbrake, make sure that the warning light works!
