International b275 lift arms

Does anyone else who uses a b275 in the mounted classes find the lift arms too short, making the plough very close coupled at the back and bringing the front disc assembly very close to the arm and drop arm???

if so, what arms have you used to fix the issue??

Well I can honestly and confidently tell you that David Brown arms won’t work as they’re a bit too bulky and when you lift to the top if the arms are on the lower pin tractor end they will shear the top pin off with a fantastic echoing bang catapolting said pin very far away!! Lesson no1, aged about 14!!

fit mf 135 ones on problem solved. or extend the ih b 275 arms by 4 inches

I am using Nuffield arms on my 434. If I remember correctly they are 6 inches longer.I also widened the mounting pins on the tractor to cat. 2 dimensions to move the convergence point forwards to the front axle. This gives much more clearance around the front disc stem and stops the arm rubbing on the lynch pin that connect the drop rods.

Extended my b275 lift arms by about 3-4". One of the best improvements I've ever done! I also find the plough follows the tractor much better. I hated ploughing with the plough so close to the tractor as it was difficult to keep the ploughing straight because there was no movement and the tractor would sometimes steer the plough. Nuffield's are similar, their lift arms are too short, I feel there is no room for the plough travel where it wants to. Whereas, with Massey Fergusons and David Browns there is plenty of room for the plough to move and the tractor doesn't want to steer the plough. Extending the link arms has eliminated any need for check chains or stabilisers.
