Hi
Have an International Tractor 885xl
The pickup hitch won't release with the hydraulic arms all the way up. Do I pull one lever to get the hydraulic arms up to then release the pickup hitch lock ? Or is there two arms ?

If it's correct then the one main lift lever should lift the arms high enough to allow the pick up hitch hooks to release, but it's highly likely the internal linkage and or the lift rods need adjusting. Near every one I've ever used hasn't worked as it should.
Usually on these if you pull back the draft control lever hard back, it will get the lift arms to go a little higher which will be all you need.

Wrong,

The main position lever should raise the arms to the lift rods on pickup hitch are just not lifting the hitch off the hooks, this was factory set like that from new, there is setting data somewhere, but the above is a good guide.
Then the draft lever was used to to lift the arms the last inch or so to be able to release the hooks,
So nearly everyone you used was set correctly, and the odd one you used that did release the hooks on position was not right and had been tampered with incorrectly

pulling draft lever up should lift arms high enough to get the hooks to open......i always pull both levers up

but the hooks can work loose on the shaft....or get out of adjustment.....meaning you lift move the handle but the hooks move on the shaft and thus don't release

So is the lever behind the lever for the hydraulic lift arms the Draft lever ?

I have only done one pick up hitch case, where the hitch fell down and squashed the foot of the chap hooking up the lights for the loaded trailer.
The dogs have to go beyond the 12 o clock position. There is a fine line between right and wrong so do get it carefully set up by an expert. The IH mechanics know.

The main issue with the IH hitch is that the hooks are on the lower part and therefore the relaease linkage/mechanism has to be over complicated to facilitate this. The linkage runs on the side of the pivoting lower part and is probe to knocks, muck and slurry therefore they jam, seize up or rip off. Plus with wear and tear they become even worse. They’re also not the easiest or most straightforward to add an extra spring to keep the latches forward enough to ensure they catch onto the pins everytime.
