Hello Everyone. I've been lurking around on this forum for quite awhile now but thought I'd take the plunge and join you all. The wife and I hope to one day soon own a farm, we've spent the last few winter and summer holidays in NZ helping out with a few big sheep flocks to gain a bit of experience.

A little about me, I'm 26, I was born and lived in North Yorkshire until I was 12 when out of the blue one of my parents got a job in a city and off we went, I pee'd around in my teens and got nowhere, eventually got sorted and now I work at a hedge fund (technical side so not huge money) in Hong Kong. The only issue is that I hate living in the city and always have, so I've been saving up these last few years and spending my holidays working with sheep so that I can move back home and hopefully start a farm. We're are a couple of years off moving back as the wife wants a bit more security, if it was up to me we'd be on a plane tomorrow but we are thinking of starting a flock before we move back since I have family in Yorkshire still who I can trust to look after the sheep. Anyway, I'll probably be asking lots of question but I'll do my best to answer any posts I see related to finance or IT.

Welcome to the madhouse that is TFF. Congratulations on such a useful and thorough first post too (y)

You'll clearly fit in well with the mad brigade if you're looking at setting up in sheep :D

Watch out for the Lancashire clan leading you astray, making out sheep are easy

You may want to get reading some of the more rational posts in the Brexit forum if you're looking to invest in UK farming in 2 years ;)

Best of luck.
