Thank you for introducing yourself first. Most seem to jump in with asking for detecting permission....
Or shooting permission!
Strangely dog walkers never ask for walkies pemissions, do they?

Hello all, I thought it polite to introduce myself as I just joined the forum. At the risk of being booed offstage I am not a farmer; I am a metal detectorist (with a difference). I am 51, live with my partner in Brampton, 1 child, 2 cats, 1 allotment. Hope you are all keeping well and staying safe.
You might wish to insert “Metal Detcting” into the search facility,in the top right hand corner of the opening page of TFF, tick titles only. You will see a lot of feedback on posts, in answer to other people who have been seeking metal detecting permission from TFF members.Hello all, I thought it polite to introduce myself as I just joined the forum. Welcome in at last. Another loiterer turned member...Hello everyone.
Just thought I did introduce myself. My name is Leroy, and I work as a field trialist for a contract research organisation in agrosciences. I do not have a farming background but 3-4 years ago after finishing uni, I got my first job assisting to carry out research trials at ADAS and that is when I developed an interest in agriculture and knew that I needed to learn more. I have been a fan of this platform for some time now and have been popping in when I have time to learn stuff and of course enjoy the banter that goes on. I have recently decided to join the platform in order to grow my farming network and learn more about agriculture from the farmers on here .
No need for apologies ,the others never doThank you for the welcome. I couldn't possibly comment!
Apologies Derrick, I had missed this on sign up. Hopefully updated now.

Could be worse sport; you could have introduced your self as a police officer, a general practitioner, or God forbid a member of parliament!
Welcome to the best farming forum on t'internet!
