Hey everyone,
I'm Stuart, 23 from south Bury St Edmunds area. I'm self employed and do the majority of work on one 5000 acre farm, recently became combine and sprayer operator as well as doing cultivations, topping and other land work.
Hi Stuart, If you are doing all that at 23; what will you be doing at 46?
What farm is that?!

Oh right, I see what you meanDon't think he meant it quite like that
No, not seen you on the forum before....................
hi im sandy and not that grumpy in reality,im shy and retiring so probably wont post much
well let me in on some inside info, whats the latest from the biscuit tin makers pal?Hah! I like your style! Actually I think everyone should "come out" ... No not in that way! I mean state their real names, so we know who's who! As I am from the machinery trade, I chose to use my real name rather than a "stage name". Many manufacturers watch the forum, many don't or not allowed to respond. Sure we all have to be careful in this day and age with social media. I post when I can add advice or an honest opinion, not more, not less.
Hello
I'm Richard I've never farmed in my life. I've been helping a very good friend on his place for six months.
He has all machinery and to be honest i'm not very mechanically gifted. I get on better with animals. I don't really bond with tractors. That just sounds wrong, but you know what I mean.
When I had been helping a few weeks I picked up the nerve to tell him I didn't understand a lot of things he said. Haulm was one of the first words he explained to me because I kept calling it stalks when I cleaned the grading shed floor with a leaf blower. So that's why I went for haulmblower.
I never expected to post here but there are a couple of threads that really interest me so I thought I would chip in.
I knew farming was a hard job, but never realised how complicated it is. People don't know the half of it.
Oh yes, if anyone tells you something is idiot proof, I am available to prove them wrong.

Just to add, when I said "I do the majority of work on one farm". I meant majority of my work. Not majorly of work on the whole farm XD
.. And 5000 acres being the total of farmed land, large amount is contracted.
