Me too and I'm still farming every day!
I bet i could learn to drive one that is for sure but it is if the farm would have the time to show me , but i can do a fair few other bits , long story but health is not great but i still do everything i can because if you don't push you never know .
Have fun on the farm mate , we did look at small holdings but well the price was well above what we could raise

Hi all
I’m Clive from sunny Essex, and I’m a semi retired gardener. My hobby is metal detecting and I love being out in the fields listening to the birds singing, whilst searching for things from the past. I’ve been a member since Monday but only just come across this thread. I’m really enjoying looking through all the threads, and I’ve started to learn a few things about farming. 🙂👍

So do you find a lot of interesting things while metal detecting? if so maybe u should start a thread, get other people started wondering what gold mine they sit atop of. when we first moved here a lot of the soil (especially around the buildings) consisted of about 30% metals. even now if u take a metal detector across our lawn it shows as tho it was full of metal, and it is........ Junk at that, mostly just old tin cans and other rust piles.

Hi Greg, yeah sometimes interesting things pop up, but you do have to dig a lot of crap first. Pity your from across the pond as I would have asked if I could detect on your land, theres always something interesting amongst all the junk! 😁👍

Hi Everyone. I’m Dan from Blyth in Northumberland. I am 33 years old, ex forces and am a mechanical technician.

I recently got back into shooting after a few years away and I’m currently helping out as a part time keeper (as a hobby and unpaid) on a syndicate I shoot on in Durham, and a farm I help out on near Alston. I’m mostly undertaking pest, vermin and Deer management, as well as feeding up of the pheasants and game birds we have remaining following the lockdowns.
Hopefully I will get a chance at some point to bump into a few of you.
I recently got my first working Cocker Spaniel pup and am training him ready for the next season and this years crop protection.

I have taken an interest in Game Keeping and am currently trying to expand my knowledge in all areas of estate management.

Enjoy being a Spaniel owner
