Hello everyone,
First of all i would like to introduce myself, My name is Cliff and i live in west lothian , scotland. Although not a farmer myself, i was brought up on a farm in northumberland and i have great sympathy with current farmers over the way goverment red tape has made such an important industry so difficult to run as a profitable business.
The reason for joining the forum is to see if there are any landowners who might be kind enough to allow me to help with vermin controll. I do understand you guys are probably sick of people asking to shoot on your land, but in my defence i would like to say a few things. I am on the reserve team for the scottish hft season and need as much shooting as possible to keep my eye in. I would only be interested in vermin controll with a moderated air rifle. I would respect all rules and regulations without exception, and i would be more than happy do donate at least on day a week to working on the farm in any capacity you should wish. I am a time served joiner and can turn my hand to most things.
I would like to thank you all for your patience in reading such a long introduction, and wish all of you a very prosperous and red tape free future.
Kind regards
Cliff.

Hello, I realise that lothian is quite a distance but as a business owner i'm afforded the luxury of plenty of free time, and would be more than willing to travel and at least spend a couple of days in the vacinity in order to make good on my word of a free days labour. Im sure some arrangement could be worked out. I will be more than happy to give you a contact number or if more convenient i could call you and arrange a regular visit which i hope would be of benefit to both parties. Thank you for your response and i would be gratefull if anyone would like to take me up on my offer.
I forgot to mention i am of course fully insured and will be happy to give references for other farms i have helped with vermin controll .

Regards.

A few years ago i spent a week at a place called pete's farm in essex, dedicated to air rifle and offering vermin and indoor range shooting. It was completely devoid of vermin simply because there was no limit on numbers of rifles and to be honest half the shooters looked like extras from a rambo film !! Im sure your good lady runs a tighter ship, but i'm usually put off by these type of places. some of the website is down at the moment, but i will have a good look.
