I wasn't even aware of the original data breach but seems like the animal rights groups are now targeting anyone with a license:

Don't agree with this at all but having a place where I can check if there is someone with a gun license in my area would be something I would approve of.

Why, what would you hope to do with that information?
Is a factor in the decision if I wanted to live in an area, similar to being able to find crime numbers, bus routes etc. High gun ownership is not an area I would like to live. Why, what would you hope to do with that information?

I would say Chapeltown in Leeds will have as many guns/head as out in the wilds of Yorkshire... Now living in the former would I suggest, be a little less safe than the latter @Turnip ?Its the illegally held guns you should worry about

That’s odd, why would you not want to live near people who police have cheacked and they have been found to be good community members with no criminal record. I’m a but sus of anybody without a gun lisence. They are either convicted criminals, have an aprehended violence order on them or are animal libbers or vegans. Is a factor in the decision if I wanted to live in an area, similar to being able to find crime numbers, bus routes etc. High gun ownership is not an area I would like to live.
To be honest I find this a rather strange thing to want to know. If you don’t want to live anywhere near a licensed gun holder that would rule a lot of countryside out as somewhere to live. At least I now know who I won’t be getting as a neighbour at anytime in the future.Don't agree with this at all but having a place where I can check if there is someone with a gun license in my area would be something I would approve of.
What about a register of people with chainsaw training? (who probably have very lethal tools at their disposal)
Or a register of people who are/have been in the armed forces? (many of whom have been trained to kill people)

Every farm possibly. That was my point really.
I assume all of my neighbours have shotguns and air rifles as a minimum, goes with the territory.
When my sister was the Pharmacist at Croydon Boots in the 90s it was broken into & all the methadone was stolen. If you are a a criminal and want a gun. You dont go and steal a legal fire arm. You very easily buy an illegal weapon from a bloke you know isnt legit!.
Thats like saying if you are a drug addict you break into boots for your fix.
