A bit off-topic but I tried an old iPad with an external BT USB device and was not able to connect.

The comments on the referred product say: "Best of luck, not straightforward on IOS 6 but works well when you crack it." Did you apply the crack or could it be that a GPS capable iPad actually accepts an external BT GPS receive without any cracks?
Having learnt much more about Apple products in the last few weeks, I have found that if an iPad is gps capable you cannot feed it gps from any other device. You then end up with 2 gps sources fighting each other for pole position and neither of them winning!

I use my yield maps to make a prescription for my P&k applications,in the past I’ve used a Trimble no,ad but I would like to use my iPad with the iSOYL app.
I’ve uploaded the shape files to my drop box but for some reason I can’t access it using iSOYL app.
Any advice would be much appreciated

@Jim t i think once you create a plan on mysoyl you can upload it to the iPad by clicking on export options. A box appears and you can create various file formats or send directly to iSoyl. If you don’t have that option on your screen you need to contact SOYL to let them know you intend to use your iPad. You will also need to make sure your iSoyl app is linked to your mySoyl account

@Jim t

Hi, if you are a SOYL customer you should have a MySOYL account to login to, we will still need to activate this account our end to supply prescription maps to the iPad, if you use your own plans and wish to go down the iCloud route then it sounds like you are pretty much setup. If you want to discuss feel free to give SOYL a call and ask for Mark on Hardware.

Thanks
