Can the plan be done by a recently retired basis advisor ? It's not like they have forgotten what pests etc are and it says nothing about current ones .
My old agronomist would do it for me for a small fee

It says
“You must arrange for a member of the BASIS Professional Register who’s qualified with the relevant BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection for the crops you’re growing”

Is he still on the BASIS register? If you have his BASIS number you can check on the website. If he’s not I would say he won’t tick the box to meet the IPM1 requirements, regardless of his level of knowledge.

If I recall Red Tractor insists BASIS advisers are member of the Professional Register. So to work for Red Tractor members BASIS adviser has to be on the Professional Register.
