Irish border..

Really? Please enlighten me, I am always willing to learn.

The moves by the EU to attract the Ukraine to its fold were obviously a bad idea given at how it would upset Moscow and the sizeable portion of the Ukrainian populace that are vehemently pro-Russian, so much so that they will take up arms for it.

But those muppets in Brussels didn't stop to consider that, did they? And now they want an EU army? And they don't perceive that as being a rather destabilising idea at all?

You don't need a Masters in international relations to understand the consequences of this stuff. It is a one way street to a sizeable regional conflict.

People say that the EU is great and has ensured peace and stability in Europe. Poppycock. There is one thing that has ensured peace in Europe, here it is:

There is, of course, a certain proportion of the population who are pro-Russian, but they are usually over 60, are (platonically) nostalgic for the good old Soviet Union and are quite unlikely to take up arms. Grumpy uncle types. Prior to 2014, Russia actually has had closer relationship with the EU than Ukraine did.
What you see in the East are regular Russian troops, joined by paramilitaries from all over the world, and, sadly, local criminal gangs in it for a quick buck.
By the way, it was very encouraging to listen to a passionate pro-EU speech in Kiev earlier this week, which was remarkable in several ways:
(1) Ukraine was openly promised membership in the EU (for the first time in my memory);
(2) It was delivered by a prominent UKIP MEP;
(3) Who herself has recently appealed to the ECJ against the EWHC judgement (finding her guilty of libel and defamation).

You cannot make this stuff up, there even isn't a conspiracy theory that fits. :)

like him or loathe him you have to admit old nige is one hell of a public speaker,he puts many in the uk parliament to shame on speech making
He calls a spade a spade with total conviction and without fear but of course he has nothing to lose unlike the government who are trying to be all things to all men. If the people of this country hadn`t voted for the Glastonbury Boy at the last ill conceived election we would be in a much better position now.

Farage is in the happy position of not being in government or any other office of responsibility in which his actions and performance can be measured against promises made.
Say what you want about any and all governments and individual ministers in governments, they have had to carry responsibility and they are rightfully measured against what they promised when in opposition etc,!
That includes politicians of all shades and parties, Trump, May, Cameron, Merkel, Blair, etc, etc,

Farage is a windbag, who got the fright of his life when the Brexit vote was carried in the referendum. He promptly resigned and ran down his fox hole!

An irrelevant arrogant vertically challenged windbag in my opinion.

Sure. He is there to take flak. He is in government and trying to do something.

He’s not in permanent opposition throwing stones.

Now would you really like to talk about tax rates?
