The Lord Bagenal hotel in Leighlinbridge is nice. Good n central for the ploughing, and good food too !
Every hotel within 40 miles is booked out , private accomadition is always available in pop up b&b s , everybody helps out with accomadition , it's a massive show with up to 300,000 attending over the 3 days. The private b& b s won't advertise until July / August. You won't be left stuck. It's in Carlow thisyear , about an hour drive from both Dublin and Rosslare harbours.

There was something of a major cock up last year as the organizers delayed the decision to cancel the Wednesday due to a storm. It wasn't until lunchtime, after everybody had arrived and was waiting at the gates, that they decided to call it off. Huge huge mistake, and it did a lot of damage to the show. Let's hope it recovers but there are plenty of regular exhibitors always looking for an excuse not to go to the expense of attending.

They should have called it off earlier , they were hoping to escape the worst of it but it only hit hard between 9and 10 am , before that there was no damage done on site . There won't be a word about it thisyear and the show will be bigger than ever.

Don’t understand the hype myself.
It’s not like you can see stuff in action.
If I had the time and money; I’d go elsewhere. But then each to their own.

I know people who had stock at last years show and organizers were less than sympathetic.

I rather think that there is a strong streak of old school Catholicism (hardly surprising I know) in the old girl who expects folk to just grin and bare without complaint whatever the good lord chooses to throw at them. The daughter is good deal more savvy but I doubt she is anywhere near being passed the full reins.

Claas were absent last year and MF have stated that they will be cutting back on all show attendances. The trend is for tractor manufacturers to support their dealers rather than turn up themselves. The Valtra stand was right next to Clarkes and I should imagine they were one and the same at the end of the day, likewise WR Shaw gave every appearance of being the New Holland stand, but weren't when you looked twice. It will be interesting to see what Armatrac do, they have a tendency to book a big space and just plonk tractors on it with little to explain who and what they are, but they were deadly serious at LAMMA. There is no love lost twixt them and Tumosan, so no idea how Micheal Brogan keeps the peace
