Got till ground bad with moss just had cake spread on it. Would it be a good idea of not to spread iron sulphate granules over the bad areas?

Leaving some pasture length (say more than 5cm) going into winter will keep moss growth restricted. Spring growth will beat moss in the spring. Moss grows when pasture species give it room. So why are the pasture species thinning out? Soil structure/drainage, or soil fertility deficits?I S will not treat the cause, just treat the symptoms. Compaction/bad drainage,
The soil is peat just had treated cake spread on it PH is ok but will be good.yes some of the ground is wet & can't do much with it for few reasons.Leaving some pasture length (say more than 5cm) going into winter will keep moss growth restricted. Grab your spade and check your soil profile. Is it sealed off on the surface due to mud at some time, or is there a drainage impediment such as heavy clay or a pan further down?
If you haven't got recent soil fertility test results, get it done. No one can manage what hasn't been measured.
