As above, a fair bit of snot about, cows coughing and 1 or 2 dropping of milk.
Is coughing a symptom of IBR?

Yes. But also lungworm if cows are out. IBR will have really high temperatures.

I've poured on for lung worm, but there's still a fair few coughing

When? It can take up to a week to settle down. The dead worms can take up to a week for the lungs to clear it and some get a secondary bacterial pneumonia. Take some temps and look at the eyes. IBR will have very red eyes and watery eyes as well.

Would totally agree with that. We lived along side IBR for yrs with runny noses and the odd animal with milk drop. then two summers ago when it was very hot we had heifers with respiratory distress one of which died and others had huge temperatures. feom
What you have described if it’s only a few days since the pour on then perhaps wait but generally I would get some blood samples done. IBR is an awful disease to get ahead of.

I'm wondering if it's IBR rumbling on, last year we poured on the milkers 3 times, done then again this year 3weeks since and they're still not quite right.

Rang the vets as I was sure a very took a bulk milk sample this summer to check for IBR. Turns out the test was done in May positive for IBR, and know one thought to let me know

Don’t read into the milk tests too much. It will be lungworm, if in doubt take a few samples

Iv had a few cows struggling after them being wormed, struggle and drop in milk for a week or so and slowly come back. It’s asif it takes it out of them killing the worms or something.

Guessing you’ve taken a few temperatures, that will tell you if it’s ibr or worms

IBR vaccine is a marker vaccine so can tell they are vaccinated rather than previously infected - no excuse for not vaccinating.

I would echo that ,our IBR seemed to come on mid winter . We had one heifer that had an attack so bad it ruined her throat so much we had to put her down .
Since then we vaccinate twice a year , in atumn and top up in spring . One dose live vaccine and the other dead IIRC
