Is datatag worth it?

had a 2 year old tractor stolen....makes no difference whatsoever...only if they pull the lorry up at the docks and inspect it to see if its data tagged...... there's that many going through.. in curtainsiders as well that its a waste of time, saves on your insurance but that's all

The NFU Mutual give a discount if fitted. The potential to recover is increased, the master sticker has a transponder fitted under it and two other small transponders, about the size of an electrical resistor, are hidden on the machine using a needle to insert them into soft parts of the machine such as upholstery, flooring, insulation or even the conduit of the wiring loom. The installation positions are recorded on a registration record. The installation is done by a licensed individual, ie it is not the dealer who is licensed but the person. Ultimately they are a deterrent but aren't as likely to stop theft as an immobiliser.
