Is FIT Transferable with a CHP

Does anybody know if we sell our 2 x 50kw chp generators (from a failed anaerobic digester) is the FIT transferable with the CHP or does it belong to the AD Plant? Tia

Electric generation FITs belong to the Mpan that takes the power from the plant and cannot be transferred elsewhere.
They can also only be used for the same technology, so you could not put a wind turbine or solar on the site to utilise them.
The plant cannot be upgraded but it can be changed, provided the work does not result in an increase in capacity

As far as I am aware the heat generation FITs can be moved as they belong to the heat generation meter which goes with that equipment when moved

We’ve had 2 dealings with 2nd hand CHP’s. One from a failed gas plant, it was a 500kw and as soon as we enquired with ADBA, they had OFGEM tell them it wasn’t transferable as company had been put into administration. Also tried to buy a secondhand 1MW CHP with ROC’s but also not transferable.
It’ll certainly depend on how company was shut down. Fingers crossed for you that I’m wrong but that is the advice I’ve received.

Thanks for your reply (sorry for the delay, I didn't get a notification!). The company is still live so hopefully it is transferable 🤞. We have 2 x 50kw engines with a decent FIT - just need a buyer but don't know where to find one!

I think your generators are for electricity generation which MUST stay with the original Mpan so I think you are stuffed I am afraid
