Is handling now permitted?

now at page 10. and just going round in circles, think its time to stop digging now, as the hole is more than deep enough,
yes its a hobby, and yes many enjoy it, many will keep doing it for years to come, and things will remain much the same,
be happy, enjoy and plough on as you have done in the past, but most of all dont become bitter and moan about it,
if not happy sell up and do something else, life is to short,

Most probable, however, that is the OP of this thread caught on camera, this is why his idea of marching around with a camera is very dangerous, the camera never lies however the evidence can be taken out of context or mis- read leading to penalties for ploughmen who don't deserve it.
Ha ha...a bit like those t***s as Classic Massey who had a pic of me bowing to the soil saying "this competitor appears to have tripped!"

Being late to the thread due to not being on FF lately I am a convicted handler loosing 1st place because of it and I find some comments a bit odd and the justification absurd, I handled and paid the price, surely it's against the rules of the SOP and most matches judge to their rules so it should be punished. I've been match ploughing for 42 years and when I was a boy you wouldn't dare do it so why is it the norm now, I've been a sinner but I'm trying to give up and won recently without doing it which was very pleasing. The only need to handle is if you got it wrong.

Enough of being silly to the point of stupidity Aitch. Handling apertains to the ploughed work nothing more nothing less. If you encounter a stone then lift up, dig it out, leave it where it can be seen by the judge and is a position which allows you to carry on.

Whatever your hidden meaning or message with regard to clearing blockages from a plough or even scraping off stuck mouldboards then it leaves me perplexed to say the least. Just when I think you have strained the boundaries to bursting - off you go again - and how. Whatever cleaning, clearing or adjusting the plough has to do with handling or shaping furrows then I am sorry but the logic escapes me.

However you can derive this from the rules as written suggests to me a problem. The context is “Handling, treading or shaping of furrows” The plough is never mentioned. If you need to further your cause Harry then surely it would be better done with fact rather than fiction. As I said earlier. It might well be alright among the grown ups but it is very very unfair to impose such a vengeful or spiteful onslaught on those newcomers not conversant with the rules.

Just a small point but on TFF since November 16th 2013 you have made 3787 posts. You have in that time accrued 1983 likes which in real terms is 2-1 against. You are upsetting a lot of people on both sides of the fence. Time possibly to call it a draw - especially after this last round was provoked by you not being asked to plough at the local judging seminar.
Sitting on a comfy fence I see the 1983 likes as a positive response and the remainder as neutral, or lacking any hard, negative responses. Your argument doesn't hold and you should lure Aitch into a dark alley to sort out your differences.

Not at my age he shouldn`t! Much more sense to continue the discussion over a pint or two.
