Not had what you could call steady rain here yet but I do remember 2002 was an awful wet summer as well.
Think we were 150-200% of average rainfall. First and only time I've had Spring barley in the 25% screenings region.

Can't remember if that Spring was dry or not though.
Cold and wet that year. Planted 50 acres of organic spuds, and only harvested 100 T off the whole lot.

some were moaning about lack of rain not long ago, I was stuck in hospital in all the nice weather now its pissing with rain and I still can't do any silage, sh!t happens
Next week looks good and it'll be a better crop by then if it hasn't gone too far. Every cloud.

Always the same, we need a bit, we get it, it doesn't know when to stop, we say we've had to much a pray for it stop again.... I remember seeing a post earlier on about the pattern - 2007, 2012, 2017..... Sent my anxiety levels soaring! :ROFLMAO:

getting wet now, we have had enough can someone turn the tap off

Send a bit up here will you? Still nothing significant; a minor shower or two on Monday rather than the day of rain forecast. Sowing 20ha of bloody expensive grass/vetch/herb mix today so hoping for a bit of rain shortly. About a third of a field of barley has already burnt off.
The weather has now changed from cold and dry to hot/humid and dry and I'm stuck in my ancient JD4055 sans aircon- basically a greenhouse on big tyres.

Finally getting some, last 24 hours to 8am this morning 8mm, 2mm since then, fluctuating between drizzle to light rain, still hoping for the 26mm today as forecast, but it's soon got to get on with it
