Have you not read the latest EA rules
Dont know what you mean, rules what rules 😉, there willbe thousands of farmers who have piles of fym in fields that need spreading, it's not high N readily available stuff but food for the bugs that are the base of a vibrant soil.
I'm normally respectful of rules but this one in regard to fym is one of the least thought out stupid one iv seen in the best part of 50 years farming and I have no intention of abiding by it in the future, there are plenty of ways round it.

If your spreading and planning on drilling OSR that’s okay this autumn

if you’ve told the EA on that Position Statement then you can spread

it’s legal to spread this autumn provided you follow the rules

we’re planning on field storage and spread in spring ahead of the spring barley though

That might work one year in 20 on our ground and would need a heavy frost

Seems an odd subject to get upset about, some people regularly break rules, some don't, some are very careful to stick to the rules they agree with but break the ones they don't like. This is true in everywhere not just farming.
Its not a new thing.

Who actually knows about them though, if it wasn’t for on here I wouldn’t be any the wiser. I spoke to 4 people at the grain store this week and none had any clue about any of the changes. I haven’t seen any emails from the nfu advising their members about it and I don’t read any of the farming magazines.
