Is it time we make milk and meat a protected term?

So this has been buzzing around my head for quite some time.

I'm getting sick of seeing soy milk, almond milk and f*cking rice milk being advertised none of which is actually MILK just some cloudy water with a list of ingredients longer than my arm and now with some fruit loops in a lab somewhere looking to grow meat in a test tub!

My fear is our genuine products will be swallowed up or diluted by these fakes. So has the time come for a push to protect these names and keep them exclusively for farmed products?

The French did it with a poxy wine with bubbles in why can't the rest of us?

Absolutely, milk and meat are provided as nature intended, not botched out of synthetic ingredients in some factory with goodness knows what standards!
If you want rice milk, feed rice to your cows.
Almond milk? Tip a lorry load of almonds in my shed and I'll put a few kilos through the diet feeder for you! Soya milk?? Does soya hulls count??

Good point.
Some of that Soya crap should be banned in any event. My younger son was lactose intolerant as a youngster and had soya products instead, in the form yoghurt, milk etc and it wrecked his teeth.
