Is it too late for AD

Looks like for higher power they need to remove the CO2 to get enough charge of gas into the engine cylinders, so it seems that CO2 scrubbing would be needed for 52kW

Would this equipment be standard with a Bioelectric 52 kw AD plant? My friend went to an open day and wondered what the difference between 44 and 52 k w or is it the same plant. the 44 kw was derated for some reason? Something to do with RoCs?

Not standard unless there is a massive price jump between 44 and 52 kW

The technology to convert biogas to pure methane usually runs into a 7 figure sum and as far as I was aware, was generally only considered viable on plants of 2MW upwards?

Any idea what bedding is best? This study was done by Envirosystems and it compared which product was best for anaerobic digestion when mixed with slurry. They compared sawdust, limeash, gypsum, sand and envirobed. Envirobed was the best product!

Hi Chippy
Did you go ahead with installation of an AD?
And are you still permitted to use digestate as a form of bedding? I heard that the law changed in March if this year.
Many thanks

I hope not!!! No! I think biolectric don't like them making their own! Something is going on between them! A bit of mud slinging I think!!! They were here till 9ish last night, finishing the roof in the rain! I cannot speak highly enough of them! They are certainly dedicated to get this one right! But then again, they may be depending on this, and making their own from now on!!

Soon be a month and the Solstice, how is she doing?
We had a setback! Which didn't take much fixing! However we had to wait 3 weeks(from the tank manufacture, only 20 miles away!!) for some new rails to go round the top lip, Which holds the bag up!! Started topping it up again last Friday! But it is going to take a while to avoid lowering the temp of the slurry! I think it is at 32 degrees at the mo! Going to add some bugs tomorrow, to see if it speeds up the gas production!!

At least you have good support, that and your enthusiasm will make it a success.
