Is it unusual?

for people to be cutting grass at this time of year? I mean whole fields in windrows, not zero grazed stuff. I've Seen a few pictures on the forum and today passed a couple of fields locally that have been cut. May 14th always used to be the target date for the early men, is it the season or some new variety?

First cut taken at the end of March around here, earliest ever. Very good stuff as it was exceptionally dry and warm.
Not unusual in the South East to cut in April after a mild winter.
Mind if it doesn't soon rain there will not be another cut down here.
