Assuming you run a profitable business with very little in the way of borrowing, with money lending being at an all time low is now a good time to buy a farm? Or with everything going on with Brexit and a possible end to SFP should we all be sitting tight?

Yes (y) a nice set up in the north of Pembrokeshire and you'll need a nice farm manager to look after things and include a house ;)

If the figures stack up with no SFP/BPS then yes go for it. I doubt very if we get any payments after 2019 if we do they will be a lot smaller. I don't think land values will drop much though as there are plenty of investors looking for a safe place to park their money so I wouldn't be banking on buying cheap land after 2020 either.

It might be a great time to buy a farm fix the mortgage for 15 years and maybe after article 50 is signed we will see an even weaker pound and bit more inflation to pay it for you

You may well be right. There are others who say now would be a good time to sell land to reduce borrowing as we're all doomed once the BPS money runs out???
