I sent them a link to this thread through the contact form on their website.

I put this as a comment on their Facebook page as well.

Perhaps your FB msg has stirred things up.
OH has been in this morning, suspiciously they were sold out of steak. She could not find any products on display carrying the "Shropshire" logo... But plenty of it had IE numbers.

I’ve received an explanation from The Meat Man Oswestry. They get their beef from Abp Ellesmere and Abp over in Ireland.
The labelling mix up was a mistake made by a new member of staff, who’s still under going training. Human error, that was changed straight away as it came to light. They said how sorry the are.
Makes a joke of traceability doesn't it?

Is 'Shropshire' a registered branding?
Thinking here of dear old Waitrose selling NZ lamb under its 'Duchy' brand. Or Tescopoly inventing 'Nightingale Farms' etc.

If not, it's an Advertising Standards matter.

If the animal was killed at ABP Shrewsbury, I guess they aren't breaking the law. If you want to call them out on it (which I reckon is fully justified), Twitter is the best way I think.

It wasn’t. The IE labelling makes that clear. Born in IE, reared in IE, slaughtered in IE and cut in IE.
And IE ain’t Shropshire.

☹️???
