Is the time right for dripping-cooked crisps?

1 veganism on the wane,

2 decreasing health concerns surrounding saturated fat and,

3 increasing concerns around the health effects of ‘industrial seed oils’,

is it time someone produced some crisps cooked in beef dripping?

I don’t think there are any available, correct me if I’m wrong. I’d certainly buy some.

The next Tyrrell’s?

Good idea I would buy them👍
The market is pretty saturated for crisps, potato crisps/ vegetable crisps/ corn crisps/ multi-grain crisps. There’s posh ones, cheap ones, multi flavours….etc…

But they’re all cooked one way or another in ‘seed oil’, it would definitely be a differentiating factor, and one you could definitely play on - “organic potato crisps cooked in organic grass fed dripping” 💰 💰

Anyone else have home made chips cooked in dripping as kids? I can clearly remember the deep pan with mesh basket and solid fat holding it in place until it melted in the heat from the electric hob.

They do at places like Blist Hill which is an old fashioned industrial village. They are nice,

I can see there being a good market for them but perhaps look in terms of them being in the snack range of my 'Fat gluttonous B@stard' brand range; Dairy products with added fat.....Meat with a layer of extra cholesterol.......

Can't wait to punt this in the Dragons' Den:unsure:

Well it’s not, so you can munch on them guilt free.

Low cholesterol is a precursor to violent behaviour, and nobody wants to end up in jail, better safe than sorry nom nom nom
Fat people are harder to kidnap and also less likely to be criminals as they can’t run away or hide as easily😂

crisps cooked in beef fat should be endorsed by the police and prison service👍

Farmers seem obsessed with vegans. They are only 2% of the population and they are a niche market. One that some will do well out of but not really going to influence how crisps are made

Vegetarians are 7% of the population so any crisp manufacturer is going to think carefully before alienating 7% o the market.

Not many small UK producers doing it and I think that the bigger players get better results from seed oils etc but the are are one or two and the US has some suppliers.

There seems to be a bigger market for actual chips.

Farmers aren’t obsessed with vegans as much as they are fed up with the vegan propaganda pushed by all and sundry for the last few years.

I think 90%+ of the crisp eating market is still worth taking a stab at surely?

Come to think of it, ‘alienating’ is a very strong word, you a veggie?
