Is there a reason why my emails are now going straight to people's spam?

I have a dot.com email address and this started to happen to me 3 or 4 months ago emils between us where going to spam so i contacted 123 reg who who run our email through an they said they would register the email address ( Ie--- blogs.com) to set up a spf record record for it .
This I believe tells an email router that the email is coming from the email server it where it should be coming from and that its not a spoof email using a genuine but cloned email address but being used as a front for spam coming from an email server is should not be coming from .
there seem to be a lot of tightening up on this in recent months to try and reduce the amount of spam email

not sure how that can be rectified with Gmail address but i assume it can be , otherwise it may pay to buy a domain name relevant to you and use an email address associated with it where its email server can be specified .

How Much is technically correct about the use of SPF records but these don't apply to Gmail as such as the SPF reocrd would need to be set up on the gmail server, which clearly isn't a practical solution for the mllions of gmail users

Funny - I use Outlook but my incoming emails, ones that have been going into the inbox for years, suddenly about six months ago started being thrown into the junk as well.
Have the email companies suddenly altered their rules/settings?

Would you Adam and Eve it?!! I've just checked my junk file, and Outlook is now putting some of the email notifications, from this forum, of others contributing to threads I've commented on, in there!!! In the past they've always ended up in the inbox.
What the hell is going on?
