Do you mean the demise of leaded?

Yes indeed, slip of the keyboard there.

Removing lead from the fuel simply required manufacturers to use hardened valve seats, a simple enough job during manufacture and none too difficult afterwards. Removing petrol and diesel is something different altogether and the comparison is simply ridiculous.

Actually, for our little shopping car, one would be perfect

That's what Clive Sinclair thought -

Sinclair Vehicles puts personal, private transport back where it belongs – in the hands of the individual."[5] The photographs accompanying the text showed housewives and teenagers driving the C5 to shops, railway stations, and sports fields – in the words of technology writers Ian Adamson and Richard Kennedy, "a blue-sky suburbia exclusively populated by electric trikes and their drivers"

Sound Familiar?

The c5 was a joke. A bad one at that.
I have friends with these little Zoe’s and they are a normal car with a motor instead of an engine, now you are making ridiculous comparisons :scratchhead:

Put another way then. How long do you think the human race can continue burning oil to propel cars, lorries, vans, tractors...

That's not the reason I would change to electric.

I'd do it to avoid Climate Taxes and the stupid prices for energy.

Climate Change isn't real .. if it was Monaco wouldn't exist nor would most holidays and any other CO2 expensive activity.
