the gate is in fact free swinging with a tab to allow one way traffic only, so should be easy to just push lamb through whilst you are holding or prop up with a short post as suits best??
I would want it to swing both ways, can have sheep/lambs either side of the fence depending upon things. So may a way to easily change the direction of swing (meaning no spanner required).
Also there is no pushing the lamb through, you have to walk them up the fenceline, keeping a distance and let them get through themselves.
