Is there still demand for pedigree blondes?

I'm not overly taken with Hallfield cattle, but then again I'm mainly basing my opinion on the bulls he takes to Carlisle. We don't rate the Ainsley sons on their front legs, they toe out too much for us. Only cows we've seen, except for Lucy's at shows, were 2 cows he had at the AgriExpo a few years back and they weren't great on their feet.
Although I'd love to visit, and am open to being converted.

give james a shout next time your at Carlisle its only an hour away from the mart, n ask for a look round his cows... legs on cattle are always down to personal opinion I think one mans shocker is another mans perfection. I don't like see cattle post legged or going right under them some people do n pay good money for it, same with front legs don't like to see them queen anne legged.. good n bad with everything, if we were ever wanting a blonde bull again hallfield is where he would come from no doubt.

Blonde society sale at Carlisle is on Friday 24th February. Judging 9am, sale at 12 noon. There's 17 bulls and 5 females entered, link to the entries list; http://www.britishblondesociety.co.uk/index.php/ct-menu-item-17/ct-menu-item-18#faqnoanchor

Looks a good line up, check out the British Blonde Facebook page for pictures of the entries and sale updates.
didnt have time to watch the day, but I have been looking at the catalogue for this sale. just cant get the time away to go to the sales. did ask back in october if internet bidding was happening, but they said it wasnt worth there while doing it.... might have to try buy private. More the heifers i would be interested in, would like a couple just for a side line hobby.

I'm surprised a company like H&H don't/won't do internet bidding, its a shame.
Regards buying private contact Caroline in the Blonde office, she should be able to point you in the direction of anyone selling heifers.

Didn't watch the Blondes but sombody was bidding by phone for one of the Herefords and got him. At least that's what the auctioneer knocked it down to

Top price Blonde was a phone bid, from Orkney I believe, and I'm pretty sure dad had another marked in his catalogue as being knocked down to 'Tic-Tac'

Makes it even more lazy on the auctioneers if the technology is there and they simply won't turn it on!!
I'm from Orkney & know the man that bought the top priced bull. Bit annoyed if that's the case with the phone bidding as I asked them back in October if they could do that, but they said no to that as well as Internet bidding. Which I found strange.

Was interested in the bull that was awarded champion, spoke to grant the auctioneer and unsurprisingly he was happy with phone bids. Sadly I was 2k short of his price
Did you get fixed up with a bull,? James will have equally good bulls at home getting ready for the next sale, fantastic herd

Yeah I know james and speak to him quite often. Don't think he has what I want for the next sale. Why do sheep have to lamb when their best fried thinks of doing so. Only got 400 in a 10 day batch, 120 yesterday, nearly matching it now, oh bed...;

No quite sure if I've done the right thing, but went and bought the champ heifer from Shapfell and a heifer from Broomley by phone bid at the Carlisle blonde sale yesterday (13/5/17). Get them home tomorrow of the boat. Looking forward to seeing them. Nothing ventured nothing gained as some folk say.
