Is there such thing as an air spanner?

I’ve tried this for our bedformers. M7 air tools have been great for us in general but this particular model just wasn’t up to it. Great performance but they just dont last- sent three back for warranty in total. Gave up in the end. The compact 1/2” drive gun they do is fantastic though- quite a weapon, especially with a low profile socket.

They've even put marks on the socket where it needs cut.

I actually measured a socket today, also a bolt. There's a surprising amount of free spece. Don't need the whole height of the bolt head nor the full depth of the socket.

We are missing a few dimensions here. What is the height of the bolt head? What is the clearance between the bolt head and the adjoining blade? How much of the bolt head does the socket need to cover to get a good grip? Every farmer should have a vernier calipers to make these measurements. Always useful in these situations. When reassembling, paint the threads with Neverseize or Copperease for next time.

Just looked again at the original photos and realise that a ratchet spanner on both sides doesn't make sense...as there is only a bolt to undo and no nut... Netherfield's post(22) with the thru-hole air ratchet might be the best bet but I'd think a 3/8'' drive may be needed.
Or here's a link to what Deerefarmer's post suggests...

Chain driven offset extension drive with a cut down socket?

Most common brand name is "tite reach".

Cap head bolts seem the other most sensible suggestion 👍

I'll Chuck my hat in with cutting down a socket so it's no deeper than needed, and a decent wobble bar.
It's surprising how useful these are.

I spent ages looking for special tools, realised that it was cheaper to buy ordinary tools and modify them to suit than it was to buy ready made out of the ordinary.

Could also reduce the size of the shank.to make it easier too.

Cheers for all the suggestions, I think Allen head bolts could be the solution, will see if I can get several hundred ordered up!! Thanks to all who contributed
