Is this bale stack safe or not?!

The picture doesn’t show the other side of the stack - is it leant up against a substantial retaining wall or is it similarly leaning towards a centre point ?

I believe, according to hse, the structure of the building isn’t supposed to support or hold up the stack in any way.

20 min job - write up a risk assessment - couple of ropes and ratchet straps round the bottom to ensure that it doesn't kick out - submit the remediation plan back to HSE - job done.

Dont know why more folks dont secure the loads when in the shed - esp if they have family with kids about.

I suspect the original ‘recommendation’ came from an NFU H+S assessment looking at the format. Best thing the OP can do is remedy the recommendations he thinks necessary, then read the whole folder cover to cover and bin 95% of it. It’s so generic if you show it to the HSE they will find policies on the folder that you don’t follow etc etc.

I don’t know why more folks don’t just take a bit of pride and put a bit of effort in when putting a load in the shed it’s not brain surgery too make a safe well stacked stack....

I can think of other places I'd rather pitch a tent
Other than the possible push out at the bottom, it's leaning into the stack rather than out.

Would I change it ?? probably yes, but I have OCD for straight lines and my kids would probably climb it ....
The tent test is an odd one, more often than not when pitching one my biggest concern is bears and cougars....?
