Any slow looking lamb on our place gets a wee jab of Vitesel. It seems to act as a pick-me-up for quiet lambs. Assuming (dangerous I know...) that there are no other obvious problems.
For a full service I'd go, Vitesel, Spectam and a mill' of pen and strep. I always check dozy lambs for entropion, it can make them so miserable they'd rather lay down and die.

Can you still get vitesel again? Thought it came off the market 2 yrs ago?

I certainly got a bottle from our vet along with our usual lambing shopping list. Maybe I should check the sell by date.
'ang on...a quick Google shows it for sale at all the usual suspects. About 23 quid a bottle. At 1ml/lamb a bottle goes a long way.

I’m shocked with the comments from people on here... no wonder the industry has such a bad name for antibiotics... the lamb needs a belly full of warm Colostrum if under 56hours old, if older warm milk will do, if it has watery mouth then yes 1ml of Betamox might save it. If tubing with warm Colostrum/milk, putting in a warm box/lamp for a few hours won’t save the lamb then nothing will...

Check it has a bum hole, I’ve had 2 this week without bums.

If the lamb is starved, study the mother first, does she have milk, is she letting him suck, is she hurting when sucking. Is the lamb just a complete and utter blooming twit! Some lambs refuse to suck for days, luckily I havnt had the lamb refusing to suck problem so far this year! But the other 3 I get daily!
