Is Windows 7 defunct?

So I'm still running Windows 7 HP (on Parallels on my Mac). Basically just use it for GateKeeper and Key Accounts as everything else is done on the Mac side. So far tonight, I can't access GK and Key has crashed, which is quite typical really. Tried to install some updates the other night, but all failed and I'm not sure if it's due to pitifully slow broadband or if Windows are no longer doing updates for 7....

Should I be changing to a more modern version or is 7 still OK?

Do yourself a favour. Don’t struggle trying to patch this rubbish. W7 should be consigned to the bin of history sooner rather than later.

Get a W10 Pro license from softwaresgeeks for under £20.

As you’re already using Parallels (smart move) simply create a new W10 instance (its practically done for you) and then just pop the license key in at the end to register it. Reinstall GK from fresh - copy over the GK data from your W7 instance.

Archive the W7 instance onto a big USB stick and have an easy(ier) life :)
