They claim 193bhp and torque up from 295lb.ft to 354lb.ft and really don't doubt these figures. I can turn it off or on from a switch in the cab. Tows well and does the job. Can't ask for more. I did have a demo of the new D-Max and although it's more akin to a Ranger now as far as electrical goodies and cab comfort, but am still not convinced about the 1.9 engine. To be fair did pull and go acceptably. Really didn't want to spend the money, more so as perfectly happy with the 2.5. It's a bit of a treadmill this new vehicle lark. As mentioned don't be frightened by miles so long as it has been looked after with regular services. It'll certainly do your job for not big money

[QUOTE="ricky_rascal, post: 7508628, member: 29432"] I have one of the last 2.5 d-max which replaced one of the first 2.5’s. It feels like a different truck really. I have had no issues with it and to be honest like it. Engine is a little noisy but found that pouring some Stanodyne in fuel tank does seem to quieten it down a little. I generally use Stanodyne in tractor fuel and thought may as well give the d-max a 'vodka shot' - what is the worst that can happen  First d-max I had was an early one and had problems with DPF and to a lessor extent, getting diesel in the sump. Dealer said injectors possibly over fueling, so would change them. This was about the time the new 1.9 facelift model was coming out. Long story short they could not get one of the injectors out so head was to come off and to do this was engine out. Then some parts could not be got for three or four weeks. I went to get some stuff out of the back of it one day and opened the back to be faced with the engine in bits! They lent me an auto and a manual facelifts but was unimpressed with the new engine. Meantime I’d had a look at a Ranger but there was a 9 month wait for a new one according to dealer. Swapping the demonstrator in one day I ended up doing a deal on a brand new 2.5 d-max in green again. Deal included the Pedders suspension upgrade, swapping my black Isuzu wheels across and had it dechromed as 'black trim matters' Matter of fact it looked identical to the old one so most never knew I had swapped (I have my own plate - nothing expensive!). My on the phone with some daft tale or rumour every day dairy farmer neighbour stopped me in the street on my way home with new pickup. Stuck his smelly dairyfarmer head in and pronounced it smelt and looked like a new one inside. I told him because it had been parked up in dock for a month the garage had done a full valet. He still believes that to be the case  It isn't often I get one over on him! As has been said get one of the later 2.5's. Much prefer it to a 1.9 more so as mine has a Stienbauer chip box which is about the only chip box I'd trust. Pulls away nicely now but can't give actual figures as not been on a rolling road.
