isuzu d max service surprise

We did a 36k miles service package with our D Max iirc £599 when new.Think the next 24k miles one is the big one.

That wasn't a bad deal but sadly not available when I bought either of mine. The every other 'big' service costs north of £400 alone and probably nearer £500 if they top the screen wash up. I have a good indi garage down the road and thinking of saving some cash. Even with isuzu parts would it be the end of the warranty - such as it is anyway?

With regard to the previous posts concerning the oil capacity on the DMax.
The situation is as follows:
1. ISUZU reduced the recommended capacity from that shown in the original user manual issued with the vehicle for Dmax models in the year 2012 to 2015 from the 7.3ltrs (when changing oil and filter) shown on 8-2 of the manual, to 5.9ltrs in the amended edition of the manual issued in 2015, but NOT necessarily included with 2015 registered vehicles.
2. Isuzu apparently realised that the originally quoted 7.3ltrs would take the oil level OVER the replenishment max mark on the stick.
3. This would then leave little capacity for the oil level increase, after each regen cycle, when an amount of fuel is added to the oil.
4. This warning about the fuel is actually shown on page 6-20 of the manual issued with the vehicle and on page 6-22 of the amended manual.
5. The amended manual shows more detailed instructions for oil levels etc., and checking and adding oil 6-20 to 25
6. The amended manual also shows the capacity on page 6-25 which was on page 6-22 of the original maual.
7. PLEASE NOTE that irrespective of this amended capacity ISUZU stress that the level must be correct on the dipstick as per the detailed explanations in the amended manual
8. IT IS VITAL to comply with the 30 minute wait period and that applies when simply checking the oil level AND when checking it after changing or adding oil.
9. It is also vital to realise that using the vehicle with oil above the Inspection Max - level WILL result in Engine Damage if the oil is at that level due to diesel contamination.

===================================

The amended manual may be found on the Isuzu site
2012 to 2017.

I do not know if the manual for 2017 is amended as my DMax Yukon 2.5TT is 2013.

============================================
Confirmation of these details has been given to me by ISUZU UK Ltd.
"Whilst the manufacturer did reduce the engine oil capacity figure for 2.5 D-Max (confirmed by the manufacturer in 2014), what they have also underscored is that irrespective of this, it must be ensured that the replacement engine oil, is nevertheless measured to the ‘Replenishment Max O’ mark on the dipstick, as detailed by the manufacturer in the ‘Owner’s Manual’ from which the following page is taken:"
and the page referred to is 6-20 of the original manual and 6-21 of the amended.
======================
Finally - hope this helps those who have been perplexed by the oil levels on the DMax.
Do please remember to note the caution to WAIT 30 MINUTES and the 0.3 ltr addition IF on inspection after change the oil is below MIN mark.
