The Chinese are growing in wealth and consume huge quantities of pork and the like, just as you and I do. There is no way you will get the Chinese populace to accept going back down the ladder- that is the biggest existential threat to the Chinese government and they know it.
They will collectively go further down the ladder than we will and you know it.
And don't go thinking they need us to build their Range Rover sports jobbies for them either.

Don't worry about building Range Rovers for them, they are only a small part of the Chinese car market, Toyota will fill any gap you leave, or the Chinese will just build their own.

If it meant the difference between living and dying, then Yes I would.

A lot of them do know better, when did you last go to China?
Who pulled your chain?
You can't fool me.
I seen it on the BBC.

So yesterday, the uk passed Italy in the table to take third. Uk won’t be third for long, Russia is storming up with over 10,000 new cases, day in day out.

And strangely - one important point in that data set - which is, the countries which took the alleged better route of more alledged stringent lockdown are still having high mortality - so again, the UK has not really done anything wrong in its approach imho.
Studying the others and making different decisions has not actually resulted in the apocalyptic sh!t show like some wish to put forward. On reflection of the above, it would appear currently that the decisions taken here are equally as effective as the ones who all the doom mongerers were saying we should have followed immediately...

YMMV..

Yes because even if you fall off a ladder and kill yourself whilst doing furlough induced DIY its classed as a coronavirus death.

That table is based on cases, not deaths.
Although of course as a rule of thumb they tend to go together. Except Russia, who must be exceptionally good at dealing with the virus, or choose to not accept it as a course of death. A bit like some on here;)

I am not quite getting you there?
That table makes it look better than it really is (Sunday) but it is that table you référés too... so France recorded 70 deaths but it was peaking at over a thousand a day. Yes, 70 is high but surely preferable to over a thousand?

With utmost respect towards the personal ramifications that these threads may add, I was referring to all the resident doom mongerers stating UK was wrong / has failed severely or whatever else they spout for the decisions it took and when etc, yet looking at the data set you provided, the countries who had more stringent lock downs are showing high critical lists etc when they are reporting lower newer cases allegedly - ergo, no one has done anything remarkably better that anyone else imho.

You may not agree - that's fine, and I am not going to be drawn into a debate to try and be swayed by the obvious flawed stats we see on these platforms, as clearly there are a lot of fatalities being attributed to Covid that are not related (some may argue with that, again I am not going there as it is in the public domain to see).
Additionally - other countries are reporting their mortalities to more specific causal reasons - whereby we appear to be adding everything into one pot, so our numbers are probably way off.

The truth will only come out in the end - and all the hysteria and doom mogering should cease imho, as it only causes hightened negativity and low moral as a main consequence.

Have a good day (y)
