Are counting" in the community "and" care home", persons died, also or not ,out there???

NZ counts all and everyone as a result of early track and tracing, so yes the absolute total of CV-19 related deaths in care homes, hospitals and in the community is currently at 22.

Lockdown and incoming quarantine/self isolation commenced 4 days before their first death, whereas UK waited, and waited and dithered until there were 335 daily deaths before a half hearted lockdown.

By 22nd March there were CV-19 drive through assessment centres established throughout both islands

It’s very good what nz has achieved but I would save the back patting till this time next year when you have had a winter and opened up your economy, they might of just deleyed it and knackered the economy

Latest is that NZ and Australia are planning their own combined Trans-Tasman trade and travel arrangements..

Covid 19 coronavirus: Transtasman bubble possible as early as July

TV yesterday and all on beaches, plus English kids back in school today ,All seems TOO fast ,and what will worst case senario with RE LOCK down later on because of this?

2nd wave beginning in 2 to 3 weeks time then another period of lockdown until the NHS and undertakers catch up again, then a 3rd wave in the autumn as the sanitizing effect of bright sunlight wears off ??‍♂️

This is what I posted on 22nd March.

Hello there , I'm glad nz is saving lives. Would you like to comment on their new unrestricted abortion policy (no reason needed for up to 20 wks). ☹

Re NZ abortion law - I am not female so feel unqualified to comment.

That's a cop out. As a male, I should have an equal input to all decisions concerning my children - born or unborn - and you should too. Both pregnancy and parenting are best undertaken with two willing adult participants.

That said, the question was so far off the topic of this thread that even I would not feel comfortable going there within this thread, so don't blame you for the response.

It is an important subject though, albeit from the other side of the world we cannot really influence things and the matter will no doubt be getting debated at length over there, so would encourage @Aircooled to start a new one in the appropriate place if he feels it merits.

Well really it was just the start of Courier's post that brought it to my mind.
NZ counts all and everyone.
RE: the abortion comment. NZ has decriminalised abortion making it a health issue not a criminal act, just bringing it into line with most tolerant western societies. Really is off topic in the Italy is shut down thread, might be best covered in the New Zealand thread, or as @Highland Mule has suggested start a new one.

I don't think anyone is back patting, I do agree that we should wait and see how the worlds economies come out of this. NZ has taken a big hit with its biggest foreign income earner effectively shut down, however they still have primary produce to sell and what NZ has achieved so far with the virus can only lift the image of NZ in the buying publics mind, add to that the infrastructure and marketing that is in place and hopefully the economy will slowly recover.
