It's been a year since,,,

Really?
We had a far left manifesto from a centre left party.a liberal Democratic Party living in the past and a populist manifesto from a centre right party with a leader much the Donald in love with the idea of being prime minister without a clue or desire to do it day to day.
Not to mention he lied during the referendum and then lied during the election on how easy it would be to do a trade deal with the EU
Yes I would say that was a SXxtShow.

I'm happy with about 90% of what Boris and Co. have done, it was a really good election result.

I'm always baffled by the "well its better than it would have been" rationale? Do any of us in our every day business lives accept poor service or poor products on the basis of "well I know Ive been sold a load of shite, but at least its not as sh!t as the shite I would have bought from...". Its also interesting that those who are so determined that Brexit will make our own politicians more accountable, are some of those who are advocates for the above.
There is a simple point of fact, we didn't elect Corbyn we elected BJ, a such we judge him on his "achievements" and not on what Corbyn may have done, regardless of how sh!t it would have been.

Sometimes you have to accept poor performance as there is no alternative. This creates opportunity for someone to say 'hey, I can do this 100 times better' but the UK electoral system is not in favour of that. So we often have to chose the least worst option. In simple terms, in a completely unrigged system, say 3 green grocers in a row with identical shops, the one with the best staff and the best produce will soon dominate the market.

So I think it's fair that when people complain about our current administration to reflect that the alternative would have been far worse and of course it would. So we had a choice of 2 turds.

I firmly believe that if we do get cleanly out of the EU that we will get a better class of MPs in the UK. People who actually need to know their stuff and not just fall back on EU legislation. That will take some time. I take your point but I don't advocate for the above. I would like a strong government and a strong opposition and a proper debate.

What specifically are you do pleased about?
I am do pleased about the result: in keeping JC out of office, in breaking the Labour monopoly in the so-called Red-Wall seats, in ensuring that there was no remaining within the Jurisdiction of the ECJ, that we are not in the SM or the CU, that we will not be giving dosh to them over in Europe any more... And more... :)

The majority voted Conservative to " Get Brexit done " , which the majority voted for in 2016. If Boris comes away with a pish poor deal, then the majority will be unhappy with the state of affaires, and they won't get another chance at the next election.
As for coronavirus, well we get a lockdown, things get under control, folks whine about the economy, lockdown ends....things get out of control again, repeat. I notice France and Germany are in and out of lockdowns, so have other countries done any better ?
Would Corbyn / Abbott have done any better ? I seriously doubt it. WAG ( Labour ) seem to be making a right royal balls up of it now, despite a promising start.
I've not been particularly happy about the outcome of any general election since 1997. I haven't whined about it for 20 years though.......
