Today all day ..A drying Easterly (gusting to over 30 mph) which is cool but not as cold as the more common S. Easterlies that we might get from that direction, so not bad at all .

Glad to be able to walk properly when checking stock.

Tractors when feeding and bikes not making tracks now either . Except I the wet spots and gateways.

but Spring, when it comes will be nice to see , .....I must admit.

March easterlies with some sun suck moisture out faster than a warm day in August

And long (well a week or so) may it continue...

Walked the heavy pasture this morning and reckon another 36hrs of this breeze, and some fert will get lobbed on. Long time since I was this late. Grass looks miserable. Got a bit of NS on last Sunday on one small patch and it looks better already :)

spitting feathers here.. not a blade of grass..................

but i have to be honest, its darn nice to able to work in the dry after all that muck.

What little growth we were getting stopped in the frosts started a week ago. Sheep moved themselves midweek to some grass they could see, so I followed them with an electric fence, and all are happy! No early silage here this year I fear...

Had a brief shower yesterday which finally washed the N Sulphur in that has been sitting on top for nearly 10 days! (y)

3 weeks ago we planted a load of hawthorn whips, they're all well in as it was so soft but tempted to put an ibc on the back of the pickup. It's sunny and warm here now after a cloudy and misty start. Tomorrow bodes warm too. Still got two fields that were well spongy a week or so ago to scratch and roll. There's a load of brash still down needing clearing from the ash boundary trees that were blown about
