It's probably too late, UK will soon be a totalitarian puppet.

I'm going to get called names here inevitably. But if you do not think that something is very wrong with the UK atm, I would urge you to seek out alternative media to get a balanced picture, having been fed fear media for over a year.

One with covid death today, 105 this week, 7 more weeks till lockdown ends. ~70 million Britons locked down. Freedom and individual liberty dead, or taken and given at will by committee.

We are a broken and divided populace, the only unification is amongst all the politicians and the mainstream media, which you should find very troubling. We are already totalitarian, the media is bought and paid for with government adverts, and state controlled by OFCOM. Parliament is effectively dissolved, goalposts continually moving.

It's probably too late, vaccine passports are coming, which will be the gateway to EID and total control/surveillance of you. You will be told to wear masks this summer and socially distance too probably, more lockdowns next winter, with the inevitable new variant.

This is a scary video, and I know it's more comforting to have your head in the sand, and believe our leaders are not up to no good. If I and many others are wrong it doesn't matter, I'm no threat to you and there's nothing in it for me. I know lockdowns have hardly affected most of you or I for that matter, but what is to come may. Just watch for a few minutes:

Yes todays figure is 1, has it passed you by that this is a bank holiday weekend ? Weekend figures are always lower and bank holiday figures even lower. Last year was at times a complete screw up, this year however the govt has a record that looks brilliant compared to most of the World. lets not screw it up now.

It clearly doesn't matter that even without a vaccine, barely anyone extra above normal died, despite the "deadly"virus infecting a third of the population.
Now with less death than normal and zero prospect any extra deaths above normal, moves to relax are not particularly welcome.
The population is caught between Stockholm syndrome and the lure of fighting for a fake cause whilst feeling/being enriched.
No wonder no pressure to speed up the return of freedoms, some of us have never given up.

Does the OP have a point? Bozza certainty seems to have got a healthy taste for directly controlling the populous and sidestepping Parliament and ignoring the Lords. :scratchhead:

Causing lots of problems with all sorts of mixed messages as well. We, as a parish council have been told we should resume face to face meetings next week (I think). I'm a little out of the loop but it appears we cannot continue with Zoom, even if we wanted to. The parish hall is still closed, as is the pub and the school don't want random people strolling around. Mixed up thinking.

Also there are a few who won't or cant wear a mask and others who are refusing the jab and others who are happy with both but refuse to share an indoor space with the refusers. All a big mess.

Yes it is true that Parish Councils have to go back to physical meetings, but its from May 17th the same day that indoor venues reopen. so its not a mixed message. Until June 21st however distancing still applies, so we will need to potentially restrict the number of public attending, not that thats an issue as we rarely get more than 5 anyway.
As to the won't comply brigade, I have no time for them at all.

He doesn’t really have a point does he? Bozza’s ship of fools can easily be removed bloodlessly at the ballot box. This isn’t the case in a totalitarian system.

Why do people keep throwing up that the government are trying to introduce eid and track everyone.anyone who has a mobile phone can be tracked. Millions willingly share their location and whereabouts on Facebook. If you have nothing to hide, what’s the problem.

The compliance of people in this country to the many absurd covid rules has been scary. But be thankful we could have been living in (Ireland no pubs for 1 year, Canada neverending lockdowns, Australia going to be a prison for the next 12 months or Thailand tourist free for 2 years)

The big question, given the amount of freezer truck trailers that got parked up early on last year, is how bad COULD it have been. I thought initially that we were being led a merry dance, but on reflection I now believe we'll never know or be told how bad it could have been. And perhaps that's a good thing.

Have a read of the SAGE minutes from last March/ April - they were all online last I looked. That will be as accurate a prediction of the unmitigated scenario as you will get anywhere.

If you cannot grasp the point then we are finished, things will never be as they once were just 15 months ago.

We have surrendered our freedoms and individual liberty. They can be demonstrably taken on a whim.

Former simple British culture is not allowed, shaking hands, close contact, seeing faces. Kids wearing masks for hours a day, being tested, people wanting to inject children with a vaccine that does not finish clinical trials till 2023, despite them being at virtually no risk.

Lockdowns do much short and far more long term damage, think missed appointments, I could run off a list but think for yourself. If you are under 70 your risk is extremely low.

"Calls and messages to the NSPCC's helpline have risen to record levels during the pandemic. In the year to March 2021, the children's charity was contacted almost 85,000 times, up 23% on the previous year."

It can also be demonstrated that lockdowns do little nothing to curb the virus, just look at Florida/Texas compared to NY/Cali.

Florida - no lockdowns for 9 months
Texas - no lockdowns for 2 months
California - lockdowns for a year
