Got an opportunity to buy an Iveco Eurocargo 7.5 tonne wagon 2004, anyone have any knowledge on these? What are the weak points / things to look out for on them?

Cheers.

Had a class 1 for years, this is a horsebox, so it gets worse....:)

We have one and had it for many years. Its a 2002 75E17, been brilliant after we sorted the lack of servicing out from previous owners (rear brakes siezed on when we picked it up coming down the motorway).
Ours has Air Suspension though - so a lot more comfortable ride. Fotted out with solar panels to keep truck batteries charged, generator living accomodation etc.

Be careful of the ignition - as the Immobiliser is managed by a ring around the ignition switch, and rather than pay the £500 for the replacement keys and re programming, people just tape the spare key to the steering column with the ring, then change to an after market ignition switch. This makes your truck easy to steal..

The only issue I would say with ours, is it is a fixed cab, so if you dod get any iisues, then it is a definite engine out.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. It's apparently got lots of servicing history, been owned by same family for years and used in it's current guise as a horsebox, it's a tilt cab luton, I wouldn't entertain buying one without a tilt, as you say any engine issues = nightmare!

We also have one and are happy with it. Tried MAN, DAF and Mercs when we were looking.
Rather than being brand specific we looked at many and purchased the one in the best overall condition for the budget.
lt was an lveco and has been a really good reliable little truck.
Cab noise level would be my only criticism, but only comes to the fore on long trips. On short runaround work its not an issue.

So is mine, stalled for 4, with a nice bit of day living. Pm me if you want photos etc. (y)

By all means PM me details, thank you (y)We're looking at 7.5 tonne mainly as Mrs & eldest daughter don't have HGV and running costs of a 7.5 damn site less than a bigger truck, probably less than what we put in our Disco TBH. Also only normally cart around 2 nags, sometimes 3 so 7.5 would be adequate.
I do however like to keep an open mind!
