There are several large regions of massive countries so far. Do a bit of research for yourself.
I do actually have work to do... any research I do is not going to have a blind bit of impact on the nations health policies..... What we tend to see is those voices shouting loudest for Ivermectin treatment normally comes from anti-vax conspiracy theorists who are almost entirely wrong in their assessments and understandings.. Its the ago old story of the boy who cried wolf... this group have spouted so much nonsense that today most of society and science view everything the put out with contempt. Its only when I see pro-vaccine experts also suggesting Ivermectin really might work that I actually start to think there may be something to it...

Nope. The experts who have proven ivermectin clinically for themselves are almost all also advocates for vaccination. That's what a bit of research rather than unresearched personal opinion, like you admit to [because you have work yet time to comment], indicates to me.

What kills most people is actually their own immune system over reacting to covid. Hence why the age old treatment of Dex is effective as it dampens down the immune system. It will be interesting to see the results of the Oxford study.
As long as it isn't designed to fail. There's literally Billions of Pounds at stake and when the stakes are that big, big Pharma plays dirty. They have all that to lose if ivermectin was proved effective and recommended, hence Merck, of all companies, who pioneered and promoted the safety of Ivermectin over decades and literally billions of human doses, casting doubt on its safety now.
Fact is that Merck has had hundreds of millions of Dollars by the US authorities to develop a new drug against Covid with the promise of literally billions more paid over stages for a patented drug that they are projected to sell for $700 for a week long course. This compares with the cost of Ivermectin, which is off-patent and made by many labs/factories worldwide and which could cost as little as $20 for a week's course. Probably less.

Try watching this video from 10 minutes in, there is good evidence out there that Ivermectin is could be safe and effective against Covid. :watching:

Dr John Campbell is a trusted source of anything to do with Covid.

John Campbell took a long time to be convinced and his frustration and anger comes out in this video in a very cautious but sarcastic way. He usually reserves his rather reserved anger to things like the ridiculous delay in stopping travel to the UK from India a month or two ago.

It’s probably not advisable to drench yourself.

Her paper has been peer reviewed today as it happens. She is a statistician who has worked with various agencies including the WHO in recent years, not a clinician specialising in viruses. I have never seen a claim that she was.

With particular reference to @Highland Mule, the Tess Laurie paper has been peer reviewed and published in the USA. Here is a commentary on its context and content.

The validity of the data, certainty of evidence, is graded as being 'moderate' which is one off the best which is 'high'. There are two lower levels of certainty below moderate. This is in relation to the 62% reduction in death.
In already hospitalised patients it reduced death from 7.8% down to 2.3%
Prophylaxis used in India, Peru, Mexico and Chile with an average reduction in infections of 86%.
Adverse events couldn't be assessed, basically because there were none.
I believe, from other sources, that the overwhelming majority of clinicians that used the product were and are now convinced of its efficacy and safety.

Watch the video for a synopsis. It is a very fair assessment of clinician led research.
There is far more evidence and indeed better certainty than for many treatments officially recommended for use during treatment.

Didn't I say that I thought the affects would be greater in poorer countries eg India,Peru,Mexico, and Chile. I will be clearing that space on my mantlepiece for my Nobel Prize.

That doesn’t compute. They have used it in those places in higher numbers because it was easier and faster to access than vaccines. There is absolutely no evidence that it works better in third world countries than first world. Indeed many of the top clinicians advocating its use base their experience on using it in their own first world practices.

https://covid19criticalcare.com/network-support/the-flccc-alliance/ if you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a list of over 400 doctors who use the treatment protocols, there are probably thousands who use it but are afraid to put there name to it

Four in the U.K., one of whom isn’t actually a doctor and three who seem very much fringe practitioners (face reading, feng shui, anti-ageing, wtf?.) That’s three “doctors” out of, what, around 200k in the country.

Have a google of their names and profiles and tell me if there’s any you’d actually trust to look after your nearest and dearest.

If its proven why are so many national health boards and individual clinicians around the world continuing to ignore it? I do not buy the bulls**t that if Ivermectin was an approved treatment that the emergency licensing of vaccines would be revoked due to "guidance" documents which only apply to certain countries anyway. If it really was 62% effective a few clinicians would have cut deaths on their wards drastically, their colleagues in nearby wards and nearby hospitals would have followed suit and ivermectin as a treatment would have rapidly spread throughout hospitals around the world, with or without the approval of their health boards. I believe Ivermectin could well have a positive impact but if it really was a highly effective treatment it would be very clear very quickly.

I'm not so sure. I think the pressure from big pharma and related corruption is so great that it would be career ending stuff to say or do the wrong thing. Head in the sand if you're not considering that as a very real possibility.

the bit at the bottom is interesting in that they are looking into Metformin an anti diabetes medicine something my wife takes as a recovering cancer patient. Apparently it has some positive effects against Covid in women however having seen the side affects I reckon the cure could be worse than the disease. It's all up in the air at the present. And anybody in the know isn't going to be on this forum. Having watched my wife deal with animals for years I wouldn't disagree in the effectiveness of drugs used in combinations and also used to treat things they aren't specifically developed for but she's treating animals. Imagine the uproar if her Doctor father or mother or sisters decided to have a go just on the off chance it might work.
