Jacob or Berrichon Tup?

First time breeding sheep this year and a friend has suggested putting my Vendeen ewes to either a Jacob or Berrichon tup, I know people locally who hire out both breeds but curious to hear people’s opinions on either breed.
Have heard that Jacob x are slower finishing but aren’t as prone to foot problems as the Berrichon x are? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Im open to other possible suggestions, only a handful of ewes to put to the tup

You are correct on both points

Berrichon would be my choice.

Are you ok with the lambing process, how to deal with prolapse, how to feed ewes (don't over feed) & the actual lambing?
Yes have worked on sheep farms during lambing for past couple years. This is just my first time with my own flock

What are you aiming to breed? Fat lambs for slaughter, or replacements to keep for breeding?

If you are going to slaughter all the lambs then, of those two options, the Berrichon. If you want to keep the ewe lambs as replacements, neither.

Is the man recommending Jacobs, the same man that will hire you one by any chance? Why anyone would choose to use a Jacob to breed a crossbred is beyond me I’m afraid, when there are so many better options available.

Pure everytime, don't see what either of those breeds would add to a vendeen. If you are wanting to cross breed, I would of thought a charollais or texel would bring better returns than either a Jacob or berrichon.

Not looking to keep any for breeding just looking to slaughter all the lambs.
no it’s not the same person recommendingthe Jacobswho would hire it, it’s another local chap who has Vendeen flock who uses the Jacob tup
