Japanese Knotweed kits (cheaper injector on Ebay anygood?)

The full kits are over £400 which there is a lot of extras like box, gloves, funnel etc which you dont need to paying extra for.

Has anyone bought just the injector and bottle? Seems to be a couple of types on ebay The Greentech in fancy case is around £400 which is considerably steep. Alternatives Ive seen on youtube someone but the plant down and spray in an amount into the shoot. Obv I dont want glyosphate to grip into saplings or other plants.

These Ebay ones are £60 - £80 but do these work?

Needle will surely get plugged up all the time? I might be wrong but if I was spot treating stems I think I would have a sharp knife to take the top off the stem in one hand and treat with a squirt from a livestock drench gun held in the other. A suitable drench gun will only cost you £15. If exfarmer is correct saying max 10%, 1ml per stem I would probably mix it up at 2% and set the gun at 5mm. The none chemical option is mow mow mow. We had a jungle and I mean a real jungle of the stuff around a derelict cottage, 20 years after renovation we still get the odd plants appearing in unmown areas but it didn't survive long where we put down a the lawn.

I did a clump two weeks ago with a cydectin 2ml injector and an old wormer bottle that had the same tube cap as the injector needed. I used a boggo 18g needle on well over 100 stems no problems. 2ml of neat 480 glyph injected in to the stem at about 20'' from the ground to avoid too much bending has worked a treat. I did the same to the other half of the patch last year and it has nuked it.
The grass and other weeds in the area are totally unaffected by the treatment.
