Front pto turns the wrong way, unless you have it specked the same rotation as the rear.
Would the direction of rotation matter? Or does it have an oil pump?
if the compressor did turn the oposite way to a front pto could you not rig up an idler gear system.
another option you could make a frame and using a shaft with belts a nd 2 pulleys drive it from the opposite side. the one in the pic isn't finished but it gives you an idea
Hi, did you manage to get the compressor working. I've got one which I intend to fit on rear pto. I was told by JCB that the 2cx airmaster pto turns in the opposite way to normal tractor. This is because its driven with a straight shaft straight from engine, doesn't go through any gearbox. I'm going to use a gearbox from a pto generator which will alter rotation and increase speed so I will need less engine revs.hi has anyone tried running a 2cx compressor on the front linkage and pto of a tractor? does tractor pto turn the right way?

hell of a vacum cleanerwould have thought if direction not right it might suck?
What are you going to use it for ?I've the same compressor and thought of doing the same if you put a pto on either end of the shaft you could drive it with a front or rear pto.
Blowing out the umbilical pipe, sandblasting if it has enough blow. What are you going to use it for ?

Would it be easier to buy a second hand 2cx?
these compressors do run opposite way round to rear pto, we have run one for a few years and we fitted a gearbox to reverse the direction, the gearbox also speeds it up a bit, tractor has to run at 800 rpm on the shaft. very good compressor just keep an eye on the oil level and don't let the slurry run back into it!!
Could do with another one or two if anyone has one for sale??
