JCB 310S

Can anyone suggest why when fitting or removing hydraulic hose quick couplers on grab I can't release any residual pressure in the system so end up slackening off pipe unions to let pressure go in order to fit or dissconnect ?

you need a new accuimilator, located under rear of boom.
Can only be checked with specialist equipment. Not sure on cost of new one but not mega bucks. easy to fit . I think i would just get one and try it.

Odd, I would have thought if you dumped the pressure that was it?

I partly unlock/ lock the pins and then the couplers will, 9 times out of ten, come off/on without switching the machine off. Flat face ones.

Nor mine. Maybe he’s got the pressure release button hobby?
long time since i dicked around with a 310, looking at picture its under rear right.
check with local dealer before buying. Got a feeling they need to be set up so it may need fitting by dealer as well.

Theres a few sphere shaped ones under the cab but not under the boom I don’t think. That diagram looks to be under cab and there’s two I can see.

Surely the accumulater is only to do with the soft ride facility for travelling on road ,pressure needs to be released in the system when changing oil fittings as described above by switching engine off and rolling appropriate switch to release pressure on fittings.

We have had this problem with a new Kramer, you can rock the third service switch to release the pressure but by the time you got out to the grab it’s built up pressure again. Sorted this week after some moaning to Kramer by fitting a pressure dump switch on the boom, the difference it has made has been dramatic. What was a bitch of a job is now easy, it was so bad we did think we were going to reject the Kramer over this issue. However they have told us we have to pay for this button which in my opinion should have been standard and it’s not cheap.

I don't know about a 310s but our 536.60 needed an accumulator to solve this exact problem but the pivot steers could be a different set-up.
